Selborne Primary School is an all-boys school based in East London, South Africa. They take great pride in providing the best technology and learning environment for their students to help improve their education experience. For several years they had struggled to find a special type of chair that would transform their classroom teaching experience into a more flexible and innovative environment.
EduBoard, having a long standing relationship with Selborne had this dilemma brought to their attention. Without hesitation Eduboard set out to provide a solution and within a matter of a few months, EduBoard had researched, sourced and tested a new type of chair, all during the Corona Virus Pandemic.
After presenting EduBoard’s “FlexiChair” to Selborne’s management team they were very impressed and immediately realised they had found what they were looking for.
The chairs consist of sturdy base with 6 caster wheels to easily and safely move the chair around, an extremely durable and ergonomically designed seat (available in several different colours), an adjustable, spacious work surface attached to the chair that contains silver ions that helps kill off germs, a cup/stationery holder and a large storage compartment underneath the seat to store students’ bags.
Originally, Selborne Primary wanted these chairs to be able to effortslessly change their classroom structure and improve the learning experience. But when the Corona Virus broke out, the chairs also became an important solution for better utilising space in the classroom to improve social distancing and allow for more students to safely return to school.
Within 3 months EduBoard had ordered, delivered and installed over 300 FlexiChairs to Selborne Primary. EduBoard worked with Selborne’s staff to easily assemble the chairs in 3 easy steps which literally took less than a minute per chair. “Working together with Selborne’s staff was an enjoyable and effortless experience and they really put their full effort behind this project.” said Jade Underwood, from EduBoard’s Marketing and Sales team.
The EduBoard team returned a week later to visit the school and follow up on the usage of the chairs. The students and teachers were ecstatic and thrilled with their new chairs and it was evident how much the chairs had improved the classroom environment and especially during these challenging Covid times.
