The Covid-19 Global Pandemic has been detrimental to the entire world, and as a result, has affected our everyday lives and the educational system worldwide. EduBoard being the South African Digital Classroom specialists, saw the need to respond and play a role of influencing how education can be perceived and implemented going forward.
Most schools have found this a challenging time and struggled to keep up with their teaching. Not only did the closing of schools affect learners and teachers, but it has also affected the future of the economy. Laerskool Kruinsig saw the need to rise to the occasion, to make a difference and let EduBoard help them not only continue teaching throughout the pandemic, but also improve their technological teaching experience.
Laerskool Kruinsig is a primary school located in Kempton Park, Gauteng. The project was completed over a period of 3 weeks. It was an enjoyable project for EduBoard to do as working with the late* principle, Dr Johan Kruir and his HOD team was fun and effortless. By the end of the project, it was inspiring to see how much the teachers enjoyed using the new technology in the classrooms and how the students were so excited and intrigued by it. It is without a doubt that it has changed the dynamic of learning and made the learning environment more delighting, the learners certainly have an appetite for knowledge.
The school used Microsoft teams to teach learners in the classroom or in a second classroom. This allowed students to not miss out on their lessons and remain safe with social distancing.
*Since our successful collaberation with Dr Johan Kruir, we were saddened to hear of his passing. On behalf of the EduBoard team, our condolences go out to his family, friends and the staff of Laerskool Kruinsig.
